Whether it is hot and sunny in Portland, or cold and rainy or anywhere in between, this Food Cart Pod is a wonderful place for a Food Cart Adventure. In the Winter they have heaters inside the covered eating area and in the Summer they lift up the sides of the tent up and you can enjoy your meal in the shade. I have has many wonderful meals at this Food Cart Pod, even when it was pouring down rain!
Burger Guild is generally open Wednesday through Sunday. On Wednesdays and Thursdays they are open from 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday and Saturday they are open from 11:30 AM – 8:30 PM and Sunday 11:30 – 4:00 PM.

Many Food Carts are, in my experience, cash only. Burger Guild does take credit cards!
Time for the best part! Pictures and comments about what I actually ate.
The burgers at Burger Guild are flame broiled and they have that wonderful “just off of the grill” flavor.
Ground beef stuffed with red peppers, onions, garlic and feta cheese and topped with spinach, Mata Mix and TBG sauce.
I love Kalamata olives and Feta cheese and this burger is a terrific delivery vehicle for each!
Black and Blue
Ground beef stuffed with bleu cheese, red peppers and onions topped with lettuce, tomato and TBG sauce. I added bacon to mine.
Rich bleu cheese flavor! A GR8 burger for bleu cheese fans!
Jalapeños and Cheddar
Ground beef stuffed with Jalapeños and Cheddar topped with Lettuce, tomato fried onions rings and chipotle BBQ sauce.
This burger is spicy, but not “set your mouth on fire” spicy. The chipotle BBQ sauce is a good match to the jalapeños and the fried onions rings are provide a nice counter balance to the spinach and the tomato.
Muenster and Shroom
Ground beef stuffed with mushrooms and Muenster cheese and topped with and topped with spinach and giardiniera – www.wikipedia.org/Giardiniera.
This is such a great burger! It is the giardiniera that ties the ingredients in this burger together. If you do not know what giardiniera is – click on the wiki link above. Mike makes his own giardiniera with sweet red peppers, green pepper, serrano peppers, cauliflower, carrots, celery, olive oil and vingar and it is delightful! If Mike bottled this, I would buy it!
Midwest Pork Tenderloin
Hand pounded pork, breaded and deep fried, and topped with lettuce, onion and mustard.
Yep! That sandwich really is that big!
You owe it to yourself to go to Burger Guild at least twice. Once to get a burger and some sweet potato fries and a second time to get the Midwest Pork Tenderloin. This sandwich is mind-blowingly good. (Blowingly? Is that even a word? It is now! )
The pork is so tender! Really, you will not believe how tender the pork on this sandwich is! As an added bonus -the breading is perfect. When I saw my first Pork Tenderloin, I was sure that it had too much mustard in it. I was very wrong. The mustard and the pickle with the breaded pork – Brilliant!
So How do you eat this massive sandwich? You just pick it up and start eating! Eventually you will even get to the bun!
Sweet Potato Fries!
These are the best Sweet Potato Fries in Portland! I love sweet potato fries. The first time I went to Burger Guild, I saw them on the menu and I immediately ordered them. Stupendous! Perfectly seasoned and they have just the right amount of crunch. Sometimes sweet potato fries can be limp and almost soggy, and sometimes they can so crunchy that you feel like you are eating nails. These are perfect!
I like these sweet potato fries so much that while writing this review, I realized that I have never actually had the regular fries at Burger Guild. I am going to have to go back sometime soon and rectify this! Based on everything else that Mike serves, I am sure that his regular fries rock as well.
Pictures of Burger Guild’s menu are below!
