The Portland Summer Food Cart Festival – Saturday June 22, 2013 at Mt Hood Community College
The first ever Portland Summer Food Cart Festival is coming to Mt Hood Community College June 22!
This great Summertime Food Cart Event will feature 20 of Portland’s best Food Carts, a Beer Garden, and Live Music and more!

Starting on May 15th The Summer Food Cart Festival will begin releasing the names of the participating Food Carts!
As those names are released we will add them here!
General admission tickets cost $5:00. (see below for where you can buy tickets)
General admission starts at 2:00 PM and the event ends at 9:00 PM.
With your paid admission you will be able to go up to the Food Cart of your choice and order off of their regular menu, grab a seat at one of the many tables scattered throughout the event, and enjoy some of the best Food Cart food you have ever had!
In addition many Food Carts will have a Festival Special available. This festival special will be a limited quantity special dish they will offering until it runs out!
The Festival runs until 9:00 PM and “last call” at the Beer Garden and at the Food Carts will be at 8:30 PM.
VIP Tickets are $20.00 and the Festival VIP package includes include early admission from Noon to 2:00 PM.
Those who purchase VIP Tickets will also receive a VIP parking pass and one beverage ticket which will allow you to get a one complementary bottle of water or one complementary beverage from the Beer Garden.
There is also a VIP seating area set aside for those will who purchase the VIP package.

You can purchase tickets at the Cheese Plate PDX Food Cart located at 23rd and Alberta.
This event will take place at Mt Hood Community College on the North East corner of the campus. The entrance to this section of the campus is off of Stark Street.
I love the setting for this event. The entire event is surrounded by trees. I am expecting that on June 22 we will have beautiful warm sunny day! Please note – Rain or Shine this event will be happening!

Tickets proceeds will go to ALSO. ALSO is a nonprofit that supports adults with disabilities.

We have been providing services to low-to- moderate income adults with developmental disabilities locally in the Portland Metro area since 1988… We offer a variety of programs that promote independence, being a part of the community, job development, job placement and an art studio where everyone has an opportunity to be creative”

Support Small Business
At this Food Cart event, the Food Carts able to keep all of the proceeds from what they sell. Food Cart are very small businesses (some people call them micro businesses) that have a limited season (April – October) where they can most effectively operate.
In the Portland area, we are very lucky to have Food Carts. People in many other parts of the country wish they had this culinary treasure in their backyard.
The Summer Cart Festival is committed to supporting those in the Food Cart community and helping Food Carts to be viable, successful businesses.
On a warm sunny Portland day, nothing goes better with a Food Cart meal than a cold beer!
Thanks to the festival’s friends at the Skyland Pub – we will have a Beer Garden at the Summer Food Cart Festival where you will be able to purchase a cold beer or a “glass” of wine to go with your Food Cart delicacies.
Thanks to the festival’s friends at Weston Buick GMC Kia we will have a stage featuring live music. Details on who will performing will be released soon.
The 2nd Annual East County Food Cart Competition
The Portland Summer Food Cart Festival will be hosting the 2nd Annual East County Food Cart Competition!
Guest Celebrity Judges!
Food writers who know their way around Food Carts will judge each Food Cart and pick three Food Cart winners!
The top three winners will be announced at 5:00 PM on our stage and the judges will be interviewed so we can find out what tickled their fancy.
At 8:45 PM the grand prize winner will announced and recognized on stage!
Soon the festival will release the names of the other East County Food Cart Competition guest judges.
The festival sends out a big thanks you to Tracey Ullom with Purple Sail Creative for donating her time and skills to design our logo and marketing materials.
