Earth Burgers – Portland’s Newest Vegan/Vegetarian Food Cart
Sunday May 25th, 2014 was Day One for Earth Burgers!
Their current home is The Good Food Here Food Cart Pod located at 43rd and Belmont.
They specialize in vegan and vegetarian burgers. They offer a chick pea patty, a potato and veg patty, a black bean and sweet potato patty, and a patty made with black eyed peas.
I had the Casbah (a burger made with the chick pea patty) and it was quite tasty!
The Scout PDX Food Cart is also at 43rd and Belmont and they sell beer. I had a Portland Cider Co Pearfect Perry with my burger and the two went really well together!
By the way — a Perry is a “pear cider” that is made only with pears and no apples. If you have not had a Perry from the Portland Cider Co – go do it! It is wonderful!
Diane and Stan moved to Portland from the East Coast 10 months ago to open their own business and they decided to open a Food Cart. Diane is a graduate of the New York French Culinary Institute, and she quite a bit of culinary experience. This is Stan’s first time working in a kitchen and he seems to be doing just fine!
At the time of posting this article, Earth Burgers was not yet on Facebook. You can however, follow them on twitter – www.twitter.com/EarthBurgers
I am looking forward to going back and trying a few more of their burgers including the Electric Sitar and the PDXmex!
Here are a few photos I took during my May 25th visit —
